Troubleshooting: Hot-Tire Pickup, Moisture, and DIY Re-dos
Seeing peeling, bubbles, or black tire marks? Here’s how we diagnose common garage coating issues and what we do to make them right.
Common Issues
Hot-tire pickup: soft or incompatible coatings release under heat/load
Moisture bubbling: vapor pressure pushes through the slab
Poor adhesion: minimal prep or contaminated surface
DIY kit failures: thin film, limited prep, and UV instability

Our Fix Approach
Inspect the slab and current coating
Mechanically remove failing layers where needed
Correct surface flaws (cracks/missing spots)
Choose the right system and re-install with full prep

Examples of Damaged Floors

What are the most common types of damage on concrete surfaces?
Concrete surfaces can get damaged or stained in a number of ways. If you have a concrete surface with no type of covering or seal on it, things like red dirt, chemical, and tires can stain the concrete. Normal use of your garage or concrete patio – and exposure to the elements – can lead to unsightly stains. Having us install a high-quality polyaspartic flake or quartz flooring system, can transform your garage, patio, or pool surround in just a few days.
Your garage floor can also show signs of damage if it has DIY epoxy or a poorly installed epoxy floor. In these types of situations, the heat from tires can pull up the epoxy and leave voids. In other situations, the floor covering starts bubbling and peeling up. At Epoxy Coat Masters, we have seen it all when it comes to failing concreate coverings (we think) so do not hesitate to call if you are looking for a solution to your problem.
